José Aguilar Guerra

Licensed Clinical Psychologist, Master in Perinatal and Child Psychology and Psychopathology from the University of Valencia, Spain. and Master in Clinical Psychology from the University of Panama.

Currently he works in “The Bridge Center”, helping children, adolescents and adults professional and effectively through individual psychotherapy sessions on Attention Deficit and Hyperactivity Disorder, Depression and Conduct problems. He leads children and teen groups to work on several subjects such as social abilities, self-esteem, conflict resolution, adherence to rules, frustration tolerance and others. Besides this he is part of a Specialized Tutor program and gives lectures to different organizations on several topics regarding Mental Health.

His efforts have been centered, since 2010, on children and teenagers with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, Conduct Disorder, Learning Disabilities and comorbid conditions. He has worked in the departments of Psychology at the Children’s Hospital and the Santo Tomas Hospital in Panama City, also of the University and Polytechnic “La Fe” Hospital in Valencia, Spain.

He has worked as Clinical Director of “Fundación Valórate”, conformed by a team of psychologists who offer their services in different centers nationwide, developing and implementing workshops for children, teenagers and offering Parenting Classes; in addition to training teachers in several subjects in various schools in the country.

Speaker at various occasions with the themes: “Knowing about hyperactivity and attention deficit” to an audience of over 200 people, “Rules, Punishment and Structure: Improving the management of our children (as) and our parental roles” “Management of the child with ADHD in the classroom” and others.
